Van Williams joined Health Business Navigators in 2008. He is a graduate of The University of West Georgia with a degree in Business Administration and a specialty in Marketing. In 2001, he and his wife (a pediatrician) opened Main Street Pediatrics in Blue Ridge GA. In 2003, after spending twenty three years in sales and sales management with fortune 500 companies, he began his fulltime career in healthcare starting up and managing Main Street Pediatrics. While running the practice he built the management infrastructure, supervised the upgrade of the practice management software and oversaw the design and build-out of a new office. He developed a keen interest in managed care contracts and fee negotiations, with a special interest in revenue enhancement. His search for resources to help with this business side of healthcare led him to Health Business Navigators in the spring of 2008. After working hand in hand with HBN for six months on the renegotiation of Main Street Pediatrics contracts, HBN recognized Van’s tenacious nature and his grasp of both the financial and contractual provisions in payer contracts and invited him to join the staff. After an additional month of intense training, and many months of working under the wing of other HBN staff, Van has become a key member of the consultative and account management staff at HBN.
